Priya honored for service to older adults
Priya Barnes recently received a Neighborly Award from Connecting Caring Communities for her role in helping older adults stay connected to their communities. As project director of the Let’s Take Care Campaign, which utilizes local resources and partnerships to make neighborhoods more senior-friendly, Priya worked extensively to help identify the needs of older adults and to coordinate outreach efforts in Milwaukee County. Connecting Caring Communities, a public-private initiative that links older residents with services and social opportunities, presented the Neighborlies Awards in January at a ceremony at the Marcus Center in Milwaukee.
PRSA honors Creatonomy with Paragon Award
The Public Relations Society of America — Wisconsin Chapter presented Creatonomy with a Paragon Award of Excellence for the creation of the Baby Gallery Kiosk, designed for Columbia Center. This self-serve photo kiosk, believed to be the only one in the country, allows parents to take photos of their newborns in the hospital and post them in online galleries for family and friends to see. Parents can post photos in a public gallery or in a private gallery. They can also design customized birth announcements to email family and friends directly from the hospital.

Let’s Take Care Campaign
Creatonomy has worked with the Let’s Take Care Campaign to develop a program designed to help seniors in the Prospect/Farwell neighborhood connect to their community. The campaign began a newsletter geared towards seniors detailing community news, events and activities. The newsletter has been well received throughout the neighborhood. Creatonomy also designed window decals for local businesses. Displaying this decal signifies that they offer senior-friendly services. The campaign has received significant media coverage, including articles in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and an interview with Jane Hampden on WUWM, FM 89.7.
